Ahwatukee Foothills, a designated village by the City of Phoenix, AZ. The people, who live, work and play in this thriving community share the intimacy of small town living, while enjoying the plentiful amenities of a bustling metropolis close at hand. Because Ahwatukee is nestled so closely to South Mountain, it gives the feel of a small city within a large metropolitan area. Close to the I-10, cities of Chandler and Tempe are of easy access.

A portion of Ahwatukee’s appeal is attributed to the strong educational system. The Kyrene School District serves the pre-k through 8th grade sector. It is one of the top performing districts in the state with all 25 schools receiving “excelling” or “highly performing” ratings. This is one of the reasons why homes for sale in Ahwatukee are rare. It is truly a great place to raise your kids, and once people discover the quietness of the area, they don’t want to move again. The two high schools are part of the Tempe Union High School district and both boast “excelling” ratings. In addition to the fine public schools are a variety of private and charter schools. Arizona State University is located in nearby Tempe. South Mountain College, the University of Phoenix and Ottawa University also have a campus presence in the area.

Ahwatukee offers fine shops, boutiques and a variety of fabulous restaurants. Residents enjoy large department and specialty stores, groceries stores, including health food outlets. For entertainment:  movie theaters, country clubs and public recreation centers are available to enjoy in the village of Ahwatukee. In the fall through spring concerts in the park,  festivals along with community swimming pools, tennis courts and basketball courts keep the village bustling. Looking to do some hiking, biking and horseback riding?

South Mountain State Park is the largest city owned park in the country nestled around the village to enjoy.

The Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce supports both business and community by presenting the Spectacular Fireworks Independence Day festivities, and many business and community events.
